Taking fun out of hunting?
you will always have this type of thing as long as people are wanting money. if you had land that would bring 100,000 per member wouldn't you charge it? I have some friends who are doctors, they go to nice clubs and pay big money to duck and deer hunt, but they are the farthest thing from a hunter, they are shooters, not hunters.....there is a big difference!

i would gladly pay the 100000 or 150000 if i had it to pay, there is one club that i had the chance to hunt early season that i would love to be a part of, from what i hear they have killed there share of ducks but have had to HUNT in order to find the birds it was not just pay and get your limit, alot of the price comes from what type accomidations you have and let me tell you they were NICE. From my understanding if you pay that much you would be a stock holder just think Josey a stock aholder woo hoo!!!!!
If some animals are good at hunting and others are suitable for hunting, then the Gods must clearly smile on hunting.

not trying to argue with anyone but i bet a lot of these folks you are calling hunters would give up if they had to go hunt and actually do something to kill birds!! i do go hunt and i hunt hard but i consistantly kill birds but i aint paying 100,000 to do it. we do pay for some of the places we have but if they dont produce we go find them not send someone to do it for us. if you pay that much to hunt you gotta a problem!!!

Gimme a freekin break!!!
I've hunted ducks in the Mississippi delta for almost 40 years. I doubt there are many people out ther who resent they way the good hunting land has been leased or bought up much more than I do, but to compare hunting ducks at Fighting Bayou with high fence deer hunting is absurd!
I was in a camp that had almost all of Middle Slough, and Little Tupelo in Panther Swamp, BEFORE THE GOVERNMENT BOUGHT IT, and I can tell you first hand, that Fighting Bayou doesn't have anything on what that place USED TO BE, but if you didn't know what you were doing or weren't with someone who did, you didn't kill ducks!
Wild ducks are wild ducks. Don't fault those guys just because they KNOW HOW TO MANAGE THEIR LAND!!!

yeah, well, anyone can be a "hunter" over the net.
ALWAYS shocks me when folks bash a group of folks for bettering themselves and there situation w/ "name calling" and "bunch of non-hunter" crap....fact is, these guys can afford that sorta deal - good for them. if they can afford to manage that land (and it's a huge block) - AWESOME.
what does it say about an "internet duck hunter" when he says he don't care much for being where he knows the ducks are? not much in my book. those guys command the duck movement in that area. who WOULDN'T want a piece fo that action???? especially if they're a "hard-core" killer an all?
they pay a LARGE sum of money, but i'd venture it isn't just about the ducks. they pay for the comfort of that camp, the food, drink, whatever - they pay for an experience unlike anything most will ever witness. and, i believe that the payment is a one-time deal, stock or a percentage of ownership is bought, and therefore, they win in the tax game...
would i? you damn right, in a hearbeat if i had it....i was offered a GOLDEN opportunity at the camp of a lifetime earlier this year, set-up much the same way i understand fightin bayou to be set up. unfortunately, i couldn't take on that sorta debt........BUT, under different circumstances i woulda killed for it. any hard feelings b/t me and the dude that was contancting me? nope, at least not my way. but i tell ya this, everytime they post a pic of it and the hunts they've been on, although i wish em the best, i can't help being a little envious. but not to the point of calling em a bunch of non-hunting mofo's - i know better.
do i kill dux pretty consistently - yep; so do the folks at fighting bayou too...big difference is, they get to sleep later and don't have to drive as much to do it...gator

I agree Josey...
I know guys who spend money on leases...(not talkin about my buddy who posts here) and they never go if they don't get good reports of ducks positively being there. The only way they will hunt is if they are cetain to bag a limit within an hour of getting there.
There is no getting up at 3:00 in the morning...riding 45 minutes on the mighty mississipp...the ole man. Hiding the boat in the willers...picking up the dekes to get the best spot for the ducks that particular day. Having birds choose your spot because of your set-up, enticing them to land in that one little area rather than going on....that is hunting and most of these so called "high dollar hunters" know nothing of real hunting.

well i got a problem wif you.....i am in one of those places.....and sure as hell dont send anybody to go and find my birds for me! hell there has been alot of times this year i have gone and not fired a shot because i wasnt set up rite or not in the best hole! i have done my scouting just like everybody else and stunmbled across sum and stumbled across none too! but none of it has been easy by no means! but i can tell one thing there is a bunch of great guys there and you couldnt ask for a nicer group of guys that would do anything for you at anytime.
bummie, i was TALKING about the place you hunt w/out getting into specifics....damm, i can't have nuthing...

Do you know any of these "people"?
Hunting ducks takes knowledge and skill reguardless of where you hunt. I am not saying all land is equal but the ducks that are flying can commit to land anywhere they want (not like a high fence deer)
On your property do you hunt a particular spot you know to lure ducks or do you just decide to stop by this bush for no reason today and give it a try? Do you think the people who have enough money to get into Fighting Bayou just walk out there and set up wherever it is they get tired?
The amount of money you pay to hunt doesn't determine how good a hunter you are.
One of the most dedicated duck hunters I know lives here in Tupelo and hunts in the delta everyweekend in a expensive hunting club but will work as hard and is commited to doing whatever it takes to get his limit of birds. [/quote]

i actually do know alot of these guys and have friends who hunt there and it is about 20 minutes from my house and alot of these guys know nothing of hunting exept i pay this and we show up here and we kill. not we have no ducks i gotta go search for a place on the river to kill them. you guys must not know much about this place obviously . if i know i can get up anfd have someone else put out my decoys ride me to the blind and then clean my birds what have i done? not jack $#!+. i just dont understand how you consider this to be real hunting? it is not scouting it is not doing anything to act like a hunter no work prior to the hunt . we just pay bubba to do it for us and he even cleans them too. you guys have been hunting how long?
