Re: Places to eat in Starkville
I like Harvey's more than Veranda. Also, Anthony's in West Point is not a bad ride away. Oby's is good for lunch or a cheaper dinner, as well as Mugshots for a great burger.
work hard, play hard
Re: Places to eat in Starkville
central station grill has good fish tacos and a really good pecan crusted grouper over mashed potatoes.
oby's for good muffuletta or reuben and bread pudding
bbq pulled pork is bbq pulled pork, little dooey for better sauce...petties for meatier ribs. both have good burgers.
veranda and cappe's both have good blue plates for lunch. veranda has decent ahi tuna, but has gotten small and thin as of late.
pizza - strombolis or cj's, haven't been to old venice in a while, but hear it has gotten better, again. haven't been to lost pizza, but the ones in the Delta are good, so i just assume it carried over.
harvey's still has good prime rib and chxn n fixins, and broccoli bites! ...and brownie a la mode
christy's isn't what you remember or have heard tales of, but still a good greasy hangover burger.
3little pigs bbq-???
umi for good hibachi and decent sushi
few others i haven't tried in the district

Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

On a nice day it's hard to beat Bin612 for lunch in the cotton district.

Ate brunch at Restaurant Tyler after a wedding weekend a few weeks ago. I liked it.

Donia speaks the truth. Back in high school, you just knew that place had roaches in the kitchen. Almost made the burgers taste that much better. Then the Health Dept got involved. They cleaned the place up nice, and it just isn't the same.teul2 wrote:Really? That hurts my soul. On a slightly related note, the "Best of Starkville" publication just came out in the Starkville Daily. Guess who won best burger....... Mac-freakin-Donalds. What is this town coming to????? Somebody is smokin somethin somewhere.
