WELL, IF YOU ENJOY SHOOTING HOLLYWOODS(SHOVELERS), YOU'RE IN GOOD SHAPE. THAT'S ABOUT ALL I'VE EVER KILLED ON CATFISH PONDS.

SAVE YOUR SHELLS FOR SOMETHING BESIDES THEM TRASHY THINGS

AS FAR AS A REPORT, I HAVEN'T BEEN AROUND YAZOO CITY, BUT EVERYBODY I HAVE COME IN CONTACT WITH,SAYS THERE AIN'T MUCH AROUND

BE PATIENT, MAYBE THEY'LL SHOW UP THIS WEEKEND

I have shot dozens of geenheads on catfish ponds in the Yazoo City area over the years. However, you may want to know that if the fish are being fed, that is considered a baited pond. No kidding. Thats why I don't do it anymore.

A variety of divers, the dreaded spoonie and yes...even mallards can be taken on fish ponds. Canada Geese frequent them as well. The best early teal hunting you can find is on almost drained fish ponds. We don't feed ours during the winter, so I can hunt them without fear of the baiting issue. But GC is right, ask around to make sure they haven't fed them lately.

we saw a total of 9 ducks today...ALL MALLARDS!

Spoonies have green heads too...

They resemble a blue wing in the eclipse phase (the hens do)...

They decoy well...

There aint no ducks....

They ARE puddle ducks....

Hell I have convinced myself too. I am going to shoot those damn spoonies this weekend too...have fun

No worries anyway. I have been hunting the yazoo area hard lately and the ducks just arent here. Maybe you will stroke a couple of those semi-tame Canadas.

Good Luck
