Arkabutla Hunting?

Postby BigGun » Wed Jan 02, 2002 11:02 pm

Me and buddies have a lease in Tunica this year and did decent until last weekend. Decided to go to Arkabutla and saw lots of woodies, but none ever slowed down. I know woodies don't decoy well, but any tips?.

b4tenn,
I've been slipping off on BigGunn fields killing ducks after he leaves at 7:15. It works out great, I don't have to get up until 6:15. The only thing wrong is bigGunn picks up his dekes. If he was a "real hunter" he would leave those dekes out. I've got to put my on dekes out. I've heard that Melton fellow couldn't kill a duck even if he saw one.

Didn't I see that Melton fellow shoot a duck backwards over his back - with an Extrema at that?

Blake - I'll probably see you at the Blue & White the 12th & 13th.

The Melton I know has never shot a sitting duck, he always let them swim a little first

The only thing Melton can kill is a SKY CARP!!! Did you happen to see all those on the Big Block New Year's Day?? It was way more than I've ever seen.

Big gun, if you want to kill woodies, go to Askew. Go during the week though, as every tree has a swinging dick behind it weekends.

90% of the woodies I have taken have been in Askew. If you find the right spot, they will decoy for you. Woody decoys help.

Everyone must be talking about the same Melton he talks about killing all these birds when I am not around but when I get to Tunica all he wants to do is ride his dog around and drink coffie at the Blue&White.
I guess I am going to have to come down and show him how an old hillbilly can shoot!
