Ipad2 screen replacement

How much to replace a screen on a ipad 2 ? I see some kits on amazon but they seem cheap to me. My baby girl just threw my oldest daughters ipad off the table and broke the screen.

When I worked for a company 2 yrs ago it was around 150 for a replacement not sure if they went down any if there are any cellphone repair shops around you check with them they win usually fix them

My wife nuked my Ipad3 screen, so I am on the lookout, too.

fyi that was given to me on a business ipad2:

not sure how bad of a whack it took, but for business uses it is recommended that you get a refurb due to something on the board getting knocked loose that causes other problems down the road.
the techs that i've talked to said it usually turns into a goose chase to find gremlins in them after screen replacements.

Walfart has Ipad 2's for $299 now.

My LCD is fine it is just the glass. Apple wants $199 to replace the glass. I can get the replacement glass and tools from amazon for less than $50.

Ask tntmck. He knows how to take screens off, change batteries and such on iPhones. I doubt there's much difference at all between an iPad and iPhone. He has likely changed out stuff on an iPad too.

Thanks for leads. I want to get it fixed I just can't see paying $200 to fix when you can get a new knew for $300. I am gonna try some of the alternatives suggested.
