big boys toys on state street in jackson was parting out a 90's Kodiak, I bought a seat from him a couple weeks ago and the bike was still mostly complete. he had an ad on craiglist for it

i use steven (2 J's) for all of my small engine stuff & agree with you guys. in this case, i want to buy the part & do the work myself. i hate to ask him to get me the part & not give him the opportunity to make money on the labor.

look at it this way - if you get stuck and have to ask for his knowledge or worse, put it all in a box and carry it to him and say "will you please put humpty back together"...at least he's working on the part you bought from him.

That's true....but you have to remember this too. All of the parts mowers and bikes were brought in to be fixed and when the people found out how much they leave it there. Steven has $0 invested in a lot of his parts machines. I know several people who have done this with riding mowers there.

i know for a fact that steven does not have the part i need in the boneyard or the shelf for that matter.
hence the reason i'm asking for a source.
