I keep hearing from other sources that Lumumba did great things the short time he was in office - aside from the 1% tax, what exactly did he do? Not saying he didn't do anything good - just wish someone could fill me in.

From what I can tell, Lumumba was set-up to take the city by storm. I expected him to be in front of a microphone and camera at least 3 times a day making promise after promise. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised that he seemed to keep his head down and do the behind the scenes work to see what he actually thought he could make happen instead of a bunch of empty promises.

I am sorry that a life was lost, but happy that he didn't prove me correct either.

Just my $.02

From what his inner circle of advisors has said, he was terminally ill and knew it when he ran. I figured there was a reason he wasn't raising hell - he didn't have the strength for it. It's a shame, he knew he likely wouldn't last the year and now he's going to cost Jackson at least $200 grand to have a special election.

I was told the same thing by a person with knowledge. Supposedly he had terminal cancer.
