did anyone read the article in Outdoor Life about the MAN WHO TOUCHED DEER ? Camo to the gills... this includes mud and leaf camo from mother nature.... when i incorporate this type of serios camo, no matter what i'm huntin, it works..... you need to be a part of mother nature, not just blend in.....

I am just curious to see what each of you feels is your key to success when hunting. What is the one element that you feel puts your hunting experience over the top. For example, decoy placement, calling, motion in the decoy spread (jerk cord, mallard machine or other mechanical decoy) etc. Thanks for the input in advance! Hope you guys have a great season or rest of the season that is....

First you take one or two good friends who know how to hunt. That makes the roux. Even if the birds don't fly all the lies and bofoonery will make the hunt worthwhile. Then you throw in good position- wind to your back, good cover. The add 1/2 cup of being still and 1/2 cup of keeping your head down. After that has time to simmer then slip in a healty dose of good calling but DO NOT over cook it. Your duck hunt gumbo will turn into a jerkroast calling contest. Those taste like puke. 1-2 jerk strings if necessary for extra flavor. And to garnish it all off have gear(gun, shells, warmclothes) that work. Mon cher dat's sum gooood stuff dat canard gumbo.

My key ingredient is being mobile and traveling to the ducks. Ducks are where they are regardless of weather patterns. Of course, there are some limitations on where one can travel & where one can hunt.
This ingredient may be cliche'. However, my being mobile adds to my satisfaction and to my hunting success.

Go where the ducks go. A guy can be the best caller in the world, be invisible to the ducks, have an excellent spread-but if he's in a bad location he won't kill a thing. mississippi_duc_htr is right, you also have to have the ducks!
Location is the key.
