Re: Official 2014 Signing Day Recruiting Thread
The SEC will likely end up with 7 of the top 10 rated classes in the nation (UF, UT, UGA, LSU, UA, AU and aTm). That is insane.
Re: Official 2014 Signing Day Recruiting Thread
terrance alexander- should ink with stanford
jordan sims-rebels
isaih mckenzie- UGA (offered him 2 nights ago)
michael sawyers- should sign with tenn

mshunter77 wrote:To me there is really no difference between the top 5 or even top 10 classes. Same can be said for the top 15 to 35 or so. If you look at Ole Miss and State there is a big gap as far as where they are ranked but really have the same caliber of players but Ole Miss just has more commits which when you go by total points makes a big difference. Another thing to take into account is that the majority of interior OL are ranked as 3 stars. I think OL is the hardest position to project how they will transition from high school to college. Also Vanderbilt has been taking it on the chin since Franklin left.
not sure which rankings list you look at, but i know this is not the case with rivals. only the top 20 kids committed are used to compile a ranking. for that school. so kids 21-26 or ever how many sign with said school will not count in point total in determining a ranking

Ole Miss steals 4 star DT recruit Davon Godchaux from LSU. Huge steal by Mister Freeze.

Davon still shows committed to LSU.Deltamud77 wrote:It is the season in the off-season....that is recruiting. Why don't we have a concentrated place for us to post on recruiting commitments, de-commitments, rumors, rumors of rumors, etc.
I'll start...
LSU received a commitment yesterday from Clifton Garrett, 5 Star LB from Illinois that was also recruited heavily by Ole Miss.
Rumors...
I was told recently by someone close to Ole Miss that they feel as though they have a good shot at flipping Bo Scarbrough, 5 Star Alabama running back commitment.
Rumors of rumors...
I heard a rumor that LSU is pressing Ole Miss commit Breeland Speaks (3 Star LB/DT) to flip.
Speaks has signed with Ole Miss
Bo Scarbrough is with Alabama.

That is correct...he stuck with his commitment to LSU. Apparently, the Ole Miss mods jumped the gun.
Bama just picked up their 7th 5 star of this class! Yep, you read that right. They pulled a 5 star OLB out of Auburn, Alabama...Rashaan Evans. This will likely go down as the best class in recruiting history.

Well, it is all over but the shouting...
According to 247 Sports Composite Rankings (which blends all rankings from major services) this is how it shook out:
1. Bama (running away)
2. LSU
3. Ohio State
4. FSU
5. aTm
6. Auburn
7. UTenn
8. Florida
9. Georgia
10. Notre Dame
and
15. Ole Miss
21. South Carolina
22. Kentucky
30. Arkansas
38. Mississippi State
39. Missouri
46. Vanderbilt
Pretty Amazing that Ole Miss has the 15th ranked class in the nation, which is great by almost any measure, and they have the 8th highest ranked class in the SEC.
Despite Miles losing three 5 star in-state prospects to other schools, he redeemed himself by signing the #1 player in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Illinois. LSU finished with probably the 3rd best class in school history in the process. LSU landed the #1 player in the nation by most accounts in RB Leonard Fournette who has drawn comparisons to Marcus Dupree and Adrian Peterson. He will likely be the Day 1 starter at RB.
Alabama has landed what many people believe is the best class since rankings began...the defensive side of the ball is simply ridiculous the amount of talent they have signed. In other news, I am ready for Nick Saban to retire.

Re: Official 2014 Signing Day Recruiting Thread
Tee Shepard switched from State to Ole Miss at the last minute. Sunday night he was committed to State and went to OM at the last minute.
Also, why did the back from West Point go from four stars to three overnight?

I read that Tee Shepard will never see the field anyway because of grades...so ineffectual flip in all likelihood.hillhunter wrote:Tee Shepard switched from State to Ole Miss at the last minute. Sunday night he was committed to State and went to OM at the last minute.

Read an amazing stat a second ago...
In the composite of player rankings over the last two years, Bama has landed 28 of the Top 100 players, including 12 five star players! When you consider there are over 110 D1 schools in the nation theoretically competing for these players, that is truly amazing.
