Gov. Phil Bryant Comments on Proposed Anti-Gun Legislation
JACKSON—“Any bills that attempt to track ammunition, seize weapons or otherwise infringe upon the right of Mississippians to keep and bear arms are a frontal assault on the Second Amendment. I will not stand by and allow gun owner rights to be trampled in this state, and I will immediately veto such bills if they reach my desk.”

That should pretty much stop any effort to continue with such a futile law. it is a waste of taxpayer money and the states time to bring such crappy bills to the floor. I commend the Gov for taking this stand early.

Was there a law proposed? I must be behind. What did it propose and who proposed it?

Seymore, actually there were 3, 1 was one was to have castle doctrine only apply within 30ft of your home and do away with immunity for killing someone under castle doctrine, another wanted all personal info includeing DL# or SS# recorded for ammunition purchases, the 3rd was asking for was for tracking ammo... like micro stamping or serial numbers on bullets. they were proposed by 3 non-swimming democRATS from the house and senate.
Re: A big thanks to Govenor Bryant
Is this the same group of non-swimming Democrats from the Delta who proposed the same crap last year? They know it ain't going anywhere so my only guess is they do it to get face time on the news. If I remember right the chairman of whatever committee those laws would be sent to didn't even bring them up.

It was a good move by the Gov. I have seen where Phillip Gun was also out making sure people knew of these types of bills..

If they didn't waste taxpayer money, then they wouldn't have a job. It's what they do.thcobb1 wrote:That should pretty much stop any effort to continue with such a futile law. it is a waste of taxpayer money and the states time to bring such crappy bills to the floor. One of the crazy democrats pushing these bills is Omeria Scott from Laurel. She represents district 80, Jones, Jasper and Clarke counties. She was on the news last night talking about it. She makes Jameis Winston sound intelligent.

Re: A big thanks to Govenor Bryant
I saw 2 of the proposers online and both were from Jackson to the Coast. I didn't think these few from the Delta ever write anything. I know one from Shelby/Mound Bayou area has never authored a bill.......NOT ONE. Makes you wonder why they keep voting for her.Seymore wrote:Is this the same group of non-swimming Democrats from the Delta who proposed the same crap last year?
