There was a thread on this type of Mallard awhile back on this site. You'll have to do a search for it. From what we taught on that thread, when the hen mallard gets older and stops estrogen production, she starts to exhibit male colors.

Thanks guys. My friend killed this duck and I'm not sure if he has more pics. I'll find out.

I'll buck the system here. I'm not convinced it's an old hen.

Look just below the collar. That looks like a drake which isn't what I've seen from the few old hens I've seen. I'm leaning more towards a hybrid.

But I'll wait for the experts to chime in. I do agree that more pictures would help.
