I have a 1648 custom built duck boat, probably as heavy as a war eagle or something similar. I have a 36hp prodrive on it. My hunting situations have changed a little bit now and really don't "need" a mud motor. Was thinking about getting a 40hp outboard and was wondering what kind of speeds I can expect.....
Thanks in advance

I have a 1754 war eagle with a 40hp Johnson Tiller handle. It runs around 31-32 per GPS with 2 people and a typical duck hunting load. Will sometimes get up to 34 running light load in the summer. Id say you're looking at 30-35mph depending on load.

I have a 1648 open design with a 3cyl 30hp Yamaha and with two guys and fishing gear I get 32 average!
