“It seems like, to me, a vaginer—as a man—would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”

Exactly. I think he knows full well whats hes doing and welcomes the attacks. Finally someone with the platform has the stones to say whats needs to be said.

It probably will, if they would put everything in the article and not leave out anything then what can they say.
From the GQ article.
"As far as Phil is concerned, he was literally born again. Old Phil—the guy with the booze and the pills—died a long time ago, and New Phil sees no need to apologize for him: “We never, ever judge someone on who’s going to heaven, hell. That’s the Almighty’s job. We just love ’em, give ’em the good news about Jesus—whether they’re homosexuals, drunks, terrorists. We let God sort ’em out later, you see what I’m saying?” "

I don't see this as a slam. I think he is just saying what most guys think, but I think the gay community wants to make it a slam..

Re: Got to love Phil Robertson..
"According to the American Psychiatric Association, until 1974 homosexuality was a mental illness. Freud had alluded to homosexuality numerous times in his writings, and had concluded that paranoia and homosexuality were inseparable. Other psychiatrists wrote copiously on the subject, and homosexuality was “treated” on a wide basis. There was little or no suggestion within the psychiatric community that homosexuality might be conceptualized as anything other than a mental illness that needed to be treated. And, of course, homosexuality was listed as a mental illness in DSM-II.
Then in 1970 gay activists protested against the APA convention in San Francisco. These scenes were repeated in 1971, and as people came out of the “closet” and felt empowered politically and socially, the APA directorate became increasingly uncomfortable with their stance. In 1973 the APA’s nomenclature task force recommended that homosexuality be declared normal. The trustees were not prepared to go that far, but they did vote to remove homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses by a vote of 13 to 0, with 2 abstentions. This decision was confirmed by a vote of the APA membership, and homosexuality was no longer listed in the seventh edition of DSM-II, which was issued in 1974." In my honest opinion it should have never been taken out of DSM as a mental disorder. If you get turned on when some dude bends over something ain't firing right in there...
Preach on Phil, maybe your stance will intrigue some individuals and lead them to right path.

A&E fired Phil today. If the family represents what they profess in any way, they will kindly leave the network and move elsewhere. Amazing we live in such a crazy world!
Re: Got to love Phil Robertson..
I hope Willie and the clan walk away. It would be to watch A&E executives come to the realization that some things are still more important than money for a large segment of this country. It will be fun to watch them try to replace the #1 show on TV with some nondescript actors pretending to be rural country-folk.Deltamud77 wrote:A&E fired Phil today. Re: Got to love Phil Robertson..
It is the #1 rated cable show of ALL TIME. A&E has certainly put their money where their mouth is...because they stand to lose a whole lot of money to defend 3% of the population that doesn't even watch the show.
Oh well.
I think the best thing right now for the Robertson clan is for us to keep them in our prayers. As in, they have big decisions to make because of Phil's comments...that could cause some serious internal strife due to all the money on the line.
