best selection of waders in metro area?

Postby donia » Thu Dec 12, 2013 11:39 am

who generally carries the best selection of sz12 neoprene waders (this time of year) in the jxsn metro area? tried to seal crotch seam leak on 1.5 season old columbia gadwalls, to no avail. i've got breathable pair, but looking for a standing in cold water pair of "neopremes". i'll be coming in on flowood side and going to florence, but can come earlier if a trip to north jxsn is beneficial.
stock selection around 'vegas is shy in size 12.

thnx

Bass Pro has Lacrosse too I believe. Between those stores you should be able to find something. If going to Florence check at the Outfitter on Hwy 49 in Richland also.

stouts....you haven't seen me in a while, though. "neopremes" don't make me look like a can of whop biscuits about to blow, at this juncture (better quantify that)! down 35 to 250 since i started keeping score (tech down 49 from spring/early summer ) . stouts are for short and rotund...i was only rotund!ha

Forestry Suppliers also carries Lacrosse neoprene. They are right off the interstate in Jackson.

Saw those week before last here, but they didn't have my size.
The best pair of waders I've ever had was a $75 closeout pair of Rockys I bought at the Mossy Oak outlet. They lasted 6 years with no issues what so ever. I finally ripped a hole in the neoprene just above the boot way to big to patch. I don't think they have made waders in a while. Which is why I think I got those on closeout in 2002 or 2003. I've been looking for a replacement pair of them for a few years. I'll try those if I can find some in 13s.
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

for some reason, hodgeman is sticking in my mind as their supplier in the last 5-10 yrs(?). they aren't hodgeman built priced, though - $280 +/-, so i'm hoping rocky is actually building them again!

don't know if you're interested but there is a listing in the BULLNETTLE classifieds for a pair of super tuff Lacrosse, size 12, max 4 advantage, 1000 gram thinsulate waders for sale, the add says they've been worn 4 times ....$125.00 in Brandon....FWIW...

update:
-rockies leaked at thigh out of the box (seam weld defect) and both areas where boots connect. place I bought them didn't have any size that fit, so refunded $.
-drake 2.0 mst leaked like sieves at boot seams out of box
-drake 2.0 lst (only model in stock that fit, so didn't have to pay difference) leak at seam weld a lil below belly button. worn once since i got them jan 6 in less than knee deep water, but found leak yesterday testing them in pool before storing for summer.

is it because drakes have so many accessories attached that there are more seams to seal, i.e. more probable to fail?? pretty ridiculous when multiple $300+ pair of waders leak out of the box. now to see if sports center will trade for different brand or if they wash their hands of it and tell me to deal with drake over it.
