Take your undershirt off and lay it somewhere close to where you were parked, somewhere she may come back to, or anywhere else you think she may turn up. I've heard that when the pup comes back to find you they will recognize the scent and just hang out til you come back. May be worth a shot.

Good luck.

Hope she is not a black lab.

the orange army will converge on that place in the morning, and blast anything that looks like a deer or pig.

I will let my buddies know that are going down for the draw hunt to keep an eye open.

Good news, indeed!

How'd he lose her in the first place? (I'm sure others could learn from his experience)

I almost lost one a few years ago. I was walking back to the 4 wheeler and she was roaming around out in front of me. I wasn't really paying attention to her. I think she might have chased a deer. She didn't come back and didn't come back. I whistled and whistled. Nothing. I drove out to the truck. Not there. Drove back in. Nowhere. She finally appeared after probably an hour. I think she heard the wrong four wheeler and followed them. I probably should have just stayed where I was.
