How was the commander??
Without being nosey, why did you sell it?
It's a honda, you'll never break anything on it, because it doesn't have enough power to break anything.
I really liked the commander probably would still have it, but i was trying to buy a house at the time & decided to sell it.
I liked the 900 ranger alot aside for how straight up & down the seating is. I like speed so that's why i'm in a maverick now. Plus i've got a jeep & 200m 3wheeler for hunting too.

So i have just a little experience with what you are looking at.
...
Guess I better stay away from these UTV's... sounds like there as addictive as crack!
hahaha, yep

One thing i do though, if you can swing it pay CASH. It's funny how low dealers will go when they see a wad of cash saying what are you gonna sale it for today, & always come in alot lower than you even think that they are willing to take.

Scott,
Here is what Dennis says about his CanAm commander.
Pro:
Speed is great! Very comfortable seats. You could go in water up to the top of the hood if needed. Great protection underneath.
Power steering. Load capacity is great in backend. So far no problems other than a front boot and I changed that out and I have had it over a year and I ride it really hard. Easy to change oil in.

Cons: Cost of machine. Only room for 2 riders up front.

I looked at all of them also and glad I chose can am.
Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

My brother has the commander 1000, and that thing is bad ass! All the power you will ever need and then some. The bed does look a little small, but we've hauled a big decoy bag with 3 dozen decoys, a dog, and our guns in a gun rack mounted to the bars without much problem in the bed. You've also got the lower compartment that opens up to haul blind bags, etc. in. And they're coming out with the commander crew sometime. If I was in the market, I would definitely be looking hard at the can-am.

What roof is that and what model snorkel? I have the same rig, with similar accessories but I'm looking to get tunes in the roof or some other alternative as well as snorkel just for deeper water purposes, etc.

So i have just a little experience with what you are looking at.

The new 900 ranger is light yrs ahead of the 800 ranger.
In the 800 you can't talk to your passenger & your butt gets hot, both of these were fixed in the 900.
The low end grunt of the 900 in alot better than the 800. The fit & finish has improved alot from the 800 to the 900 too.
The Prostar 900 is a very good engine that polaris came out with.
You need to seal up the & keep a watch on the air filter on the 900. The 900 ranger & rzrs both use the same filter housing & are know for letting dirt into them.

Here's what my 900 looked like. If you have any more questions ask away.

I/We've had an older mule, all the honda wheelers, and an older ranger, I finally traded my brute force and got a UTV strictly for hunting, working and the occasional play rides during the offseason and I went with the new Ranger 900 and couldn't be happier. I do like the new Honda Big red, but I've been pleased with my ranger, going on a year.

It's the Polaris steel top & Snorkel Your Atv kit. Kit is very well made & didn't require cutting of the bed which I liked.

I've got an 11' Big Red, couldn't be happier with it. it is a beast pulling a load. and it has handled some pretty nasty trails. only reason id trade it would be to get the new pioneer4. i not sure when i would need more power than it has, cuz it has never failed to spin the tires when needed, even loaded to the gills. so if being "under powered" means it'll never leave me stranded due to a dang broke belt or slipped belt. i think i'll keep running the "under powered" BR
