One day... I'm gonna be on the cover of Nat Geo

...and y'all will say, "that's the guy who took folks hunting for a living but the '01-'02 duck season was the end of his guiding career!"
Yep, one day you will see the shadow of my Cessna 185 cast down on the jungles of Peru, the beaches of Papau New Guinea or the waving grasslands of Kenya. You will see my tire tracks in the sands of the Sahara, the glaciers of Denali and the dirt roads of the Philippines. But then you will remember that I went crazy during the '01-'02 duck season and was admitted to Whitfield for 3 years.
One day...you will hear the buzz of my 3-bladed prop over the crystal-blue shallows of the Bahamas, the caribou herds near Nome and the wallaby and koala of the Outback...but then you will remember I had skin graft surgery during the winter of '01-'02 as a result of ripping my tail off of the aluminum boat seat whilst waiting out the migration in a frozen Mississippi duckhole. The migration that never came......oh to dream.
One day....I'm gonna find them ducks and then...and then....one day.

Wingman, I share your pain. And, if I had any ducks, I would share them with you. Since we are "neighbors", I know you know that I have none to share. Also none in my other 3 fields far away from our neighborhood. Man, it looks like July, from a duck population status, but feels like January, weather wise.

Maybe "next year" we'll get some. Gee, don't have to wait but a few more hours.
Happy New Year !!!!

Let there be ducks..................

Wingman, before you go to Whitfield, let me borrow the keys to the plane and to the camp.
