Official Alabama v Texas A&M Prediction Thread

Postby Deltamud77 » Thu Sep 05, 2013 8:18 am

I know it is over a week away, but this game will likely have as much of an effect on the SEC and National Title landscape as any this year.

I have been on record in thinking this Bama team might be the best they have ever fielded. While their defense looked dominant last weekend, their offense looked pretty bad against an average VA Tech team.

Texas A&M did not look great in the first half, but obviously looked pretty stout in the 2nd half with Johnny Manziel in the game.

I think this will be a pretty low scoring affair with Bama pulling away in the end and winning by a 7 to 10 points.

Bama 30-20.

well, i keep hearing about all the players out for tamu on defensive side of the ball. not sure if it's for suspension injuries or what. Rice moved the ball at will against the aggies. and bama's biggest concern was the play of their OL. I don't necessarily think a low scoring game but 31-24 or something like that. think bama wins becuase their defense appears to be top notch, and tamu, well not so much

I think the OL improves every game, that average VT team has probably the best defense except maybe LSU, that Bama will see all year. Bama was able to shut A&M down after the first quarter last year and I think they will be ready for Johnny Autograph and win fairly impressively. I think A&M is supposed to have all there players back for the Bama game.

I'm still a little concerned with Bama this year.....and JM has something to prove with all of his antics. I believe Bama will come home with a 'W', but might have to come from behind to do so.

Bama 31 TAMU 27

I don't know why I just feel Bama blows them out by at least 14. Maybe something like 31-10 possibly but $#!+ who knows with college ball. In anxious to see the line and what Vegas thinks. I wouldn't be surprised it vegas called Bama a -6.5 favorite.

The way that big RB for Rice blistered TAM, I have to think that Yeldon will have a field day against that TAM defense. Yeldon is just as big, but stronger and faster. This will also help open things up for some big plays by Cooper and that receiver that showed out against V Tech on the punt return for td, kick return or td, and Td pass ( he almost completed the "cycle").

Bama will likely control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball

I agree with Rice. Bama by at least two TDs.

Like many, I am just awaiting for the opportunity for Johnny Football to get nailed and pummeled to the ground. I think most all college football fans are awaiting to see this. Really good chance next Sat'dy.

I say Alabama 35 Johnny Football 24

I like pulling for the underdog and I also think (though I really don't like him) that a LARGE MAJORITY of what is said about Manziel is propaganda by primarily ESPN to garner interest and ratings. Manziel, like Tebow, is polarizing and they will once again ride that horse into the ground. Same song, different verse...they build you up to tear you down (Tebow, Newton and now Manziel).

That said, if by some chance lightning strikes the same place twice and Manziel leads aTm to another victory over Alabama and Nick Saban, it is safe to say that his SEC legendary status will meet or exceed that of Herschel Walker and Bo Jackson.

Saban's only defensive weakness that I have ever seen is mobile QBs (Tebow beat him, Newton beat him, Manziel beat him and even Jordan Jefferson beat him...all with their feet to one extent or another - of course, when given a second chance Saban came back to beat Tebow and Jefferson).

Furthermore, if you enjoy watching meltdowns and are not a Bama fan, you have to be pulling for Texas A&M in this one.

I think the chances are 99 out of 100 that Bama wins the game, but I will be watching nevertheless just in case history happens. :D

You are right, if he does beat Bama again he will definitely be one of the most legendary players ever.

I'm not going to make any score predictions, but I call Bama for the win. They play as a team. Johnny football doesn't even begin to comprehend that
concept. He's all about #1 and that is the reason I predict him to implode and his team to turn on him to show him that he can't do it alone.
