Another limit question--
I know that several of you think that the limit should be lowered to four ducks, my question is since the limit is now six, do you limit out when possible or do you stop at four no matter what? Seems to me that if your one of the ones who want a lower limit but kill six when possible your being hypocritical. If you stop at 4 no matter how many are falling in,I applaud you for being a man (or woman) dedicated to your convictions and doing what you feel is right. If you fit into the first catagory then why not practice what you preach or quit preaching.
Did you shoot?

I would love to limit out at 6 ducks. If I can I will, but I do think we need to go to a 4 bird limit. Now as far as being a hypocritical I don't agree. I'm taking what I'm allowed by law. If the limit dropped to 4 then I would shoot 4 (or try to). If it went to 3, then the same. Let me ask this, if you feel the speed limit on the interstate should be 55 would you drive 55 or keep going 70? I'm not trying to make an argument for following the crowd, but just some food for thought. Just for the info I've never killed a limit of birds except woodies.

What's all the fuss about limits for.......I haven't had a limit o' ducks in my decoy spread in a day's hunting this year. So, it's a moot point. I like to see birds and worken'em. If I can kill a limit, I will......whether it's 3, 4, 6, whatever. Limits are what keeps most folks from over indulging and damaging the resource. Not everybody shoots a 'limit everytime they go out.....so it balances out.
Even with as few o' birds as I've seen this year, I haven't shot at everything that HAS come into range......so I guess you can call that a form of 'restraint'. It's more important to me.....'how I hunt'em'....than how many I kill. I coulda blasted 20 wood ducks on the water the other morning. I passed-up shots at 50 other birds that were in range, but I was waiting for the right picture........duck pitching down through the trees and back-peddling. I got a little anxious and missed the first 2 birds I shot at. I took 12 shells with me that day........'had 4 left when it was all over. 'Was more upset that I shot so poorly than I was that I didn't walk-out with a full strap of birds. It was still the best hunt we've been on all year........just because we were swarmed by woodies......THAT close!
Would I kill 6 if I could?........I'm not sure........guess it depends on what kinda mood I'm in at the time. Again......it's not how many you kill, but how you hunt'em.
So, to answer the original question........"would I stop at 4 if I could shoot 6?"..............I guess not........'cause I didn't stop at one wood duck, when I could shoot 2 out of 300-400.
