I will be in Southaven for an afternoon in a couple weeks. Where should I go eat?

What type of food??

BBQ- Memphis BBQ Co.
Seafood- Boiling Point. Depending on what time you are here, they have a great lunch buffet.
Most any chain restaurant is in town.
Swankys Taco shop is also good.
Couple different Japanese restaurants also.

Depends on what you want.

Chop house is there. (Kinda hard to find) and more pricy. I don't care much for Memphis BBQ company myself, but to each their own.

And there is always Hooters or Buffalo wild wings.

As far as type of food goes, I'm not that picky. I want to stay away from chains though because I can always get that here. I'm going to Mud Island so somewhere close to there would be good too.

Goodman Road and I-55 in Southaven is a very busy area. Anything you want to eat is within 5 minutes of there..

Boiling Point has seafood and oysters.
Milano's NY Pizza is excellent.
Huey's is famous for their hamburgers, and is a fun place.
La Hacienda has excellent food.
Maria's Cantina has a patio and their food is decent.
Fillin Station Grill is next to the Harley Davidson dealership, and has good music.
Memphis Barbeque Company has.... wait for it... yeah, that stuff.
Sometimes you just have to close your eyes, count to ten, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you wouldn't look good in prison stripes... and just smile at that dumbass and walk away.

-Wise Guys pizza in Horn Lake has a real good deep dish pizza. Call it in before you go, it takes ~30 minutes to cook.
-or Tug's on Mud Island has good burgers/bar food.

The Supreme (not sure what it's called exactly) deep dish at Wise Guys is probably the best pizza in Memphis.
It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
