Blind project
Re: Blind project
Coming along nicely Joel!
Looks like a fun project.
Looking forward to seeing the finished product "on location"
with a limit of flatheads draped over the shootin window!

Looks nice... need 7 more!
Re: Blind project
Worked about 6 hours on it yesterday. Front is clad. Got to do the sides and back then roof it.

Bench seat in as well. Used a big thick cut pine slab. Looks pretty cool.

Re: Blind project
lookin' good...I was thinking about how we used to have our floating blind stabilized and it was with a piece of 3" metal pipe in each of the corners. They went through a 4" collar that was welded to the blind and we had drilled a hole in it and welded a nut to the 4" pipe to be able to run a threaded pin to lock it in place.
It worked pretty good....the only problem was that they were on the "outside" of the blind when brushed and you had to get in the water and walk around it to make adjustments......If I ever do it again...and I probably will, i would make my stabilizers "inside" the blind.....when you aren't hunting, you leave it "unlocked" so she can float up and down and lock her down when you are hunting...
another thing we did was to actually anchor it off of 2 corners with some 100lb + cement blocks, so if she ever moved, she wouldn't go far
