Blind project
Re: Blind project
What type of tree skins are you putting on there and what do you figure the total will be for this project? I've been looking for a pontoon boat for years that was economically feasible and they are hard to find......
Wish I could help you with it.....

Blind will be under $1500. Don't know what the boat cost was though.

Re: Blind project
Why the mixture of wood? Especially the pine...that threw me way off....as far as color and lasting any length of time
Re: Blind project
It was the primary wood in the pile of free sawmill slabs.
The bark will fall off ant the wood will color over quite nicely.

Re: Blind project
I hope you have been working on the blind this weekend.....Need some pics for a "fix" Teul....I'm going into withdrawals over here...
Re: Blind project
I have come to the realization that not everything on this build is going to be square. And I am ok with that.
I am working on it as much as I can. Which is quite limited. I decided to take the "cab" all the way to the front. It was going to be to hard to hide a flat 4ft deck sitting out there on the end of a "clump of trees". Door on each end, dog area on the stern.

Door in back is for the option of hanging a "boat shed" off the back.

Re: Blind project
i was thinking the same thing..........maybe some spud poles. I can see 6 guys moving from the bench to the gunning window.....and everybody's barrels end-up in the water.
Other than that, it looks like the makings of a comfortable home away from home.

Re: Blind project
Spud pipes for sure! I would put one on each corner.
Is that a square I see? Is it a hunting blind or a house?

Re: Blind project
There will be some semblance of that in play. It will end up being like a floating dock. I plan on getting it out to the location and finding the right spot for it. Then, driving 2 steel pipes down in the mud. Then take an old tire, and use it like a piling hoop to keep the boat there no matter the water level.Anatidae wrote:i was thinking the same thing..........maybe some spud poles. That's what I want to do. We'll see if it plays out that way.
