Bee Lake is on fire. Crappie are being caught in knee deep water between the cypress trees and bank. If you wade, keep an eye out for snakes and gators. They are out in full force.

Bee Lake report:

We waded today, started around 10 and finished with 60 by 6:30. We caught them early then broke the cardinal rule of leaving fish to go find fish. We did not catch a single fish on the south side of the bridge. If we were in pecker deep water we were catchin em'. Pink head with white and chart body seemed to be noticeably better. We had some small, medium and large. Today we were going for quantity  .

This topic sure has slowed down. Guess that is because the crappie are doing their thing. Been fishing an oxbow in the Delta, fish are 1.5-3.0 feet deep. Was catching almost all males until Saturday. Orange headed jig with pink/white/chartrues (sp) skirt. All black crappie and they leave little doubt when they hit it.

Grenada Lake has turned on over the last few days. Getting good reports out of most of the major creeks.

Been killing em at Bluff Lake on the Noxubbe Refuge had one yesterday go almost 3 lbs. Big females are moving in and the big black males will take the pole out of your hand.

Any word on Bee? I'm getting the itch to do a little wading.

Going to fish an oxbow at home this afternnon and tomorrow, not the size fish that come out of Grenada and Sardis, but these black crappie will knock the pole out of your hand when they are right. Have not fished it in a couple of weeks, they were still deep and no where near the bank. Hoping this is the time it begins.
