Classic Orvis with a lot of memories!

My son Kirk sent me this picture last week of a rainbow that he caught in NC. Said he wanted to catch a few trout on my dad's rod before he retired it. (He caught a brown on it also.) This is an Orvis Impregnated Bamboo 8 1/2 - 3 piece fly rod that came out just after WW II. I gave the rod to Kirk about a year ago. Funny how a classic piece of fishing gear can bring back "A Flood of memories" Mr. E

That is a good looking rod. I would like to see how it works. That is a good way to hang up a classic

That flyrod is a beauty. I bet it casts silky smooth!

I am interested in purchasing duck calls that were made by Mike McLemore. I am a family member and they have a sentimental value.
