I have a jackson cuda14 and a wilderness systems tarpon for the boy. They are a blast, I'm a fat boy and I can load the Jackson down with a cooler and camping gear for a night and you never know it is there. Go ahead and get a good boat. Time spent in a cheap boat while probably still fun will not be near as comfortable. There is a great used market for them also. If you buy the higher end boat you will get almost all your money back when you upgrade. Go longer than you think you need.

Thanks for asking this question Mike. I recently acquired a FREE 10 foot sit in kayak I will need to make some "additions" to make it easier to fish out of. The water temp warms just a bit and get the garden planted I'm going to start using mine.
Thanks
Bruce
