Poverty Point Fishing Advice

Postby Bourbon » Tue May 14, 2013 12:45 pm

Gentlemen,

Looks like I will be able to make it home for Father's Day this year. My dad is not a huge outdoorsman, but loves fishing, especially for bream and sacaperchalaits. Has anybody had any luck or care to share advice on how to fish Poverty Point Reservoir around Delhi, LA?

Not looking for anybodies secret holes or spots, just would like to get my old man a bite or two. Will have a 16' flat with 50hp to get around in.

I grew up fishing around Tallulah, but live in Baton Rouge, so don't know where to go anymore. Any clues on what the fishes be biting on?

Thanks.

About the only advice I can give you for Poverty Point is don't go when it's windy... If the river weren't so high I could help you out with Yucatan. You could drive over to Eagle Lake, I've heard some good reports lately for the white perch.
