This time of the year, fish the points where smaller creeks feed into the river, especially those with pads. Start with topwater baits early and then worms, jigs, or Carolina rigs later in the day. This time of year, the shad start to migrate up the river and into the backwaters. They will gang up on river points, especially those with pads. Also try a Zoom fluke through the pads. Best fishing of the year right now and smaller crowds.

Throw some frogs on those pads and you will get plenty of hits. You can catch lots of fish in that area.
