specs and reds

Postby ScottyLee » Mon Oct 08, 2012 3:04 pm

well i've been out in the marsh several times, but i've never been later in november. Well we are scheduled to go Nov 20. i'm looking forward to it. Have any of you guys ever been out or fish this time of year? we will be going out of lake bourne area, just outside of slidel. what's the trout like this time of year? chances of catching some bulls? flounder?

getting pretty anxious to be honest...

Between now and the end of December is some of the best inshore fishing of the year. The bigger specks will begin moving from the outside into the interior marsh. Although the slot reds have been inside all year, the bull reds will begin to show up as well. If the water temps drop, fish the deeper bends of the bayou as well as deadend canals for the specks. This time of year, they will usually hit plastics as good as live bait.
