I heard they were generating alot and the water levels were up. Were you wade fishing or in boat?

Wading no problem the lakes are way down releases are afternoon. Motor boats can't run till some releases they're so low. Especially tryin to cross shoals. Caught lotta fish but got tired of braking fish off on the midges w/ 6x tippets. 4X became my lowest. Amazing how tiny stuff worked better. Swinging streamers/jerking them back worked well on the White. The tiny stuff better on the Norfork. Dry Run Creek is loaded with monsters. Just needed a kid! Started to put the wifey in a wheel chair and fake it! There's some 3' long in that place!
Caught a few on the hopper dropper deal but missed lotta strikes on it.

The "long" midges tied w/bead on dry fly hooks worked well.

Red worms and eggs worked well when the water would rise on opening of the gates.

Always managed a couple on a cdad.

Or a black sculpin with gadwall flanks.

Scuds, sow bugs, trout crack for the bread and butter...

Fished the Spring River this past weekend, we caught plenty of fish all three days. Didn't catch a ton of big ones but it was great to have fish on the line again!

Been hankerin about goin after all the work subsides... Was the water cloudy? Seems they bite lil better when the river is up and lil cloudy in early spring. Was wondering if they still got the barracade at the west hatchery chute stopping access across the chute up to the dam3? I think the scheduel states they're gonna release a bunch of cutthroats this year and maybe some big brooders outa da hatchery too. Wish I lived closer like you!
S'posed to have repaired da top of da dam...Had a goodun break off up there once, saw a big tiger musky, and caught my first walleye. Had to pass the lil willow tree on the wall and knock all da snakes off the limbs to get by.

Kinda tough along the wall, gotta roll cast mostly...

We didn't make it up to the dam to fish. Stayed put in a lil honey hole that I've visited for years. The snow made for some awesome scenery
