Re: Arkie trout bugs...
Those trout are all about some scuds up there.
Good work.

Re: Arkie trout bugs...
Good selection of colors. It's hard to believe how picky those tailrace trout can get for a particular color scud.
Never assume.
Re: Arkie trout bugs...
Need to "gray" mine up some. The sowbugs look better on strait hooks rather than the curved scud hooks. I epoxied the sowbugs backs and use strip outa a plastic bag, or flashbeau, etc. for the scuds. Kinda remind you of rollypollies...
3 sowbugs and a scud

This is all very important to guarrantee action most of the time. But for the big boys you gotta throw some "meat" to get their attention. I.e. Cdads, sculpins, minnows/streamers....
I wonder how many times I coulda twitched sumthin in that hole at JFK Park on the Lil Red by this brute and she wouldn't take it?
Think she was 32.65# estimated and caught on a live minnow and released....Later DL

DL, are you familiar with John Wilson in that area? I used to fish with him some a few years back.

Man that is a pig and those flies look great as always Denduke!
Re: Arkie trout bugs...
That's a pig for sure. Bet she didn't put up much of a fight. I've heard a lot of those browns over 20lbs just lay on the bottom if hooked b/c most trout rods don't have the back bone to lift them. They are also known for just being lazy.
That's not to say I'm not incredibly jealous. But it would be somewhat of a bummer to say I caught it on bait.
