Rod and Spinning Reel

Postby MudHog » Wed May 30, 2012 6:28 am

Not sure if many of you like to use a spinning reel, but I recently bought a Diawa Crossfire 3500 3iB and a Academy house brand Tournament Choice rod and is hands down the best combo for the price.

Rod - $15

Reel - $25

mine is 6'-6" medium. I plan to get the 7'-0" medium and want to remember they had a 7'-6" medium too. My intentions for these is saltwater use.

i have one of their tournament choice baitcasting rods and i really like it. have a shimano calyx on it and its my all around bass/trout rod. casts good and has plenty of sensitivity and backbone. can't beat it for the price

Thanks for the info, Lane. Finally made it to Academy about a month ago and picked up the 6'-6" medium to catfish with in Lake Washington. I like it!
