Late Millet Problems

Postby Bamawebfoot » Tue Aug 13, 2013 1:40 pm

Guessing we are screwed. Been trying to have a field disked for a few weeks and the rain has kept it from happening. Looks like 2 inches or so in Tunica the last 4 days to complicate it even further. We were gonna try to get some Jap Millet going, but I think this year is a bust. I may just flood it and hope some teal find it. What do you all think????

What's in it now? A lot of folks disk up great natural stuff so they can plant something else.

Mostly coffee weeds, I assume it is too late for the millet?

It'll make if planted now. You'd be surprised what is under those coffeeweeds I bet. I sprayed 2,4-D on a SOLID stand of coffeeweed about 3 weeks ago and now have a very nice stand of grasses coming on.
