Army Worms

Postby Tedl10 » Thu Sep 13, 2012 7:01 pm

Army worms have wiped out our entire 10 acres worth of millet in our field and another acre worth in the greentree. Is there a pesticide I can spray before or after discing that could help fight the bastids? Thanks

Keep them on your side of the road. My millet just got up and I want it to keep going.

Good luck, Rob. They have demolished our field. Went from beautiful to not worth a shat in a matter of days.

Scratch that, just re-read it and saw where your looking for something with residual control... I don't know but will check into it.

Probably gonna have to be a contact pesticide like a pyrethroid. Hurricanes usually bring in a pile of moths from the south and then they lay eggs.

I'm going to check this afternoon or tomorrow. I just got off the phone with a guy that lost almost 15 acres in 5 days.

Don't worry. When are you going to spray?

If you are in town this weekend and see the gate open come on in. I will be working on deer stands and trying to figure out how to tell a neighbor in a non-verbal fashion that I do not appreciate him cutting a fence and trimming limbs so he can see down one of our fire lanes.
