Thank ya'll for the advice. I bought a 3 pack of the Hunter Specialties calls (that come with the DVD) a couple of months ago. Didn't know if there was anything better out there. Thanks again for the replies.

Nothin better than H.S. or knight & hale. I think knight & hale sells a 3 pack of mouth calls that are suppose to be for beginners.

I started out with a Primos Diamond Yelper (brown call) and killed a few birds with it. H.S. Strut's Cuttin 2.5 is an old favorite I had luck with too. My go-to call now is a Primos A-frame triple bat cut. All 3 of these are easy TO ME but like the other guy said, trial and error to find your preference is the best advice.

your gonna get about as many opinions as there are diaphrams on this subject. i personally learned on the primos diamond cutter and its still my favorite although i have many others that sound good. practice in the truck while drivin around if possible that seems not to annoy everyone in the house. good luck man

i personally started with the primos call with the metal piece above the reeds that helps to hold the call in place...of course i wasnt but 10 years old when i started but it just helped to show me how and where exactly to hold the call..
