If you aren't good with a diaphram call....

Postby model12shooter » Sat Dec 19, 2009 10:15 pm

A true master of Turkey hunting is good with a diaphram--but will use a snuff box, wing bone, or slate on occasion. You cannot reproduce the different calls on anything other than a diaphram-not to mention not having to move the hands to do it. I'm a 3rd generation Turkey hunter from Alabama-you got the ducks-we got the Turkeys.

Hmm-guess some on here are a little sensitive concerning there abilities. I mean, why are calling contests won with a diaphram call? I've got 117 beards in a plastic bag and only about maybe 8 were called in with a friction call-and yes these are all 8 to 12 inch beards-no jakes.

Not only is he an idiot from Alabama but he is Obnoxious.

That's a word derivative from a Latin word Ob, meaning $#!+
and noxious, a French word meaning ASS.

You can't argue with an idiot, just give him space and maybe he'll crawl back in his hole.

Man i do not know BR.i am speechless!!!!..... sometimes i sit back and take all this in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW! .....all i'll say is i have been called "up" only 3 times turkey hunting...twice with a box and once a natural voice....IMO ....first three notes from a diagphram are usually a dead give away from most mouth callers.....Older i get...less i call....i'll have to move to Bama probably to get any better :)..

I agree! Competition callin and meat callin are two different things! It might sound pretty and it might fool a turkey but yea you can definately tell it! I never heard a turkey be perfect on every yelp or cluck or even a gobble for that matter! Them bama turkeys (or at least the ones I've hunted) do seem to be a little strange. Maybe they have to many diaphrams running around over there! I mean gee this man claims to be a true master and hasn't even heard a turkey gobble outside of the spring?????? Give me a break!
