Took my 11 year old. No gobbles. 1 jake stayed about 50 yds out hens started cutting loose and pitched opposite direction and took to long beards that we roosted yesterday with them the opposite way. I will say it was very odd to be hunting turkeys with reminants of ice and snow all around. The boy had fun. We will get on them this week if the rain will hold out.

We chased three long reads with about 15 hens all morning with no luck. It was hard moving with all the ice.
Sidebar- me and a couple of guys talked about how terrible the timing is of the youth hunt. Toughest time of he year to kill birds.
