Its gettin that Time!

Postby swamprooter » Tue Feb 17, 2015 11:19 am

long anticipated season for me this year. Job change and "turkey quota" shut me down last year. Got some trips planned here and there. Makin up some calls to give to friends. Going to be a banner year. Hopefully put a couple longbeards in my 10 and 12 year old laps. good luck everyone. Jake St ( persimmon almost dry!) couple little pocket calls from left over stuff.

Put me on that list as well. Also, I've got some wood you might can make use of.

All of the above replies on one of those calls will have to stand in line. Joey, my new cell is 662 378 7173. I will be coming by your house for the best sounding one of the group, and I definitely will be bringing something with me. Mr. E

Thanks MS, they all have a persimmon lids. Cut that myself. I love persimmon wood for bows, tables, calls and walking sticks. smells good working with it too. Most have mahogany sides on the scratch side with persimmon or poplar mineral streak box. Mahogany is such a stable wood to tune. you can tune it raspy or mellow. Not a whole lot of magic in making these except when to stop removing wood when tuning and assembling grain against grain
