I will say this has been the strangest season to date. I have been 'on' more birds this year than ever before. I have had 1 within 15 steps (came up quiet behind me) and several others within 40 yards and either a tree, a log or some other obstacle prevented an ethical shot. Was even stopped by a Game Warden (first time ever in 34 years) back in the middle of 'nowhere' and scared us to death, but completely legal so no issues. Sorry teammate on team 14 that I did not pull my weight.
However, I fly out for SD this Sat for a week chasing Merriam's so praying I have a little more success.
Say a lil prayer for me as we fly.
