good stuff Buck and Johnny. That one on Buck's left looks like it could eat the one on his right.

were these longbeards? I'm just curious. I've heard of horror stories in that area because they are overrun with jakes this year.

Awesome pics and hunt. We were planning a Kansas trip for this year but opted for Wyoming at the last minute. Hopefully make it to Kansas and Nebraska next year

Alex i would not say there was an over abundance of Jakes like Texas has this year. we did see our fare share of jakes. It made it fun for Buck, when we are hunting here we are in kill mode. he has always wanted turkeys to mgobble in his face and the jakes we encountered made that happen. The biggest bird taken on the trip was by double R's boy Forrest....10 3/4 and a little over 1 1/4 hooks.

Their weather is as screwy as ours has been. Red Buds just beginning to bloom. Not green much yet. It snowed while we were there...and I think they got 1/2 inch of the white stuff this morning. It was an awesome two days, but the next two weekends should be unreal

I'm headed up there to hunt the 13th thru 15th. Looking forward to it. Looks like spring has finally arrived up there. I hunt OK every year out west where I guide duck hunts in the winter. We almost always hunt the first week of the season. Man was it cold out there this year. No leaves on the trees and turkeys just weren't acting right. Waited all season this year to finally see spring.

Just got back from Kansas Monday evening and had a great trip. We hunted with Adam Friday through Monday and everyone in the group killed birds except me. One of my group shot the best bird Adam has seen killed this season. He had just under 1.5" hooks. Every hunt I seemed to be on nothing but jakes, but still had a great trip. Never could get a long beard in range. They have a pile of birds and Adam and Kelly worked hard to put us on them. I plan on making the trip back out there again next season.
