Winchester xtended 3" #6's???????

Postby billyho » Fri Mar 27, 2015 8:00 pm

Looking for last years version of Winchester 3" #6 xtended supreme elite. Anybody got a box they don't need? Can't find them anywhere. Was told they stopped production on them, if this is true Winchester is crazy... Best turkey shell ever made (atleast for my gun). Any help would be appreciated.

If you can't find them look at the Hevi Shot 5,6, 71/2 combo. That is the most lethal load I have ever shot at turkeys.

I shot my last Winchester Extended Range #6 Saturday morning. I am thinking the Hevi Shots as I have shot them before. But DAMN they are proud of them...

The ammo guys keep changing it up and quit making certain shells just so we have to keep experimenting and buying new. The days before these yahoos were experimenting and trying to get 70 yards out of a shotgun you could find whatever shell you wanted, and cheap. They have it figured out now, like a Saudi oil prince. Crying damn shame...

I witnessed someone throw a 70 yard shot at one Friday. Not naming any names but his initials are LawDawg. Needless to say the Tom lived to see another day.

I am sold on the Magnum Blend 3.5"s. I killed a turkey at 50yds dead as a hammer last week. That blended shot is lethal out to that range and that is as far as I plan on shooting one.

If you cant find them try the Fed Heavyweight #7's or Magblend or Nitro's are real good too.
I shoot Nitros and dont plan on changing but if i didnt have an ample supply of Nitros I'd look hard at the new Win. Longbeard. They are unreal for lead. At 60yds(we had to try it) I saw 22 pellets in the brain and spine, didnt count the ones in the rest of the head and neck.

I have shot the Fed Heavyweights out of my 20ga and they are impressive.

But hopefully you can find some of the shells you want.

I usually shoot 3.5 inch number 5's. This year I switched over to 3 inch Magnum Blend and they've been deadly. I've seen a few killed at 50 yards with 3 inch magnum blend.
