shooting house walls

Postby merlebo05 » Fri Oct 30, 2015 8:06 pm

I have built a shooting house and can't decide what to use for the walls, looking for ideas..

Possible options are plywood, tin, ondura (http://www.lowes.com/pd_12749-1115-153_ ... 10612&pl=1) any others out there?

What about some window ideas??

1/2 inch 4x8 treated panels are what we use. Light but long lasting with paint and good sealing of joints. I like the deerviewwindows.com style but bought some 36x36 aluminum windows from a Biulder supply store. Pm your cell and I'll text you some pics from yesterday.

my windows are 8 inches all the way around so a standard window won't work for me..

For your windows go to Lowe's and they will cut plexi-glass to fit whatever you have. Use cabinet hinges and the windows will stay up by themselves. I used treated plywood for my stand.

I have used the plexi glass in the past but always ended up with a running crack in it when I would drill holes for hinges, whats the trick??

We just built one and used the corrugated plastic(like the campaign signs). It's light and durable.

I use fence picket boards on mine. They are cheap, treated and light. See the pic below (this stand is for sale, btw).

For windows, go to hobby lobby and buy the clear plastic sheets. They can be cut with razor blades and drilled into, and they are cheap.
