Anyone use them? Thinking of switching next year and wanted to see what y'all thought.

I hear they perform excellent, especially on Face shots

JD,

That was the scope's fault. Not the bullet. :)

Ha! You need to get that "double drop" compensation on your next scope! You gonna have that!

A regular comedian, I tell you. :D

I ought to be able to sue Nikon for what they did to me. emotional distress and unimaginable pain and suffering!

I've heard from a member on here that they can be very finicky to seating depth...unlike the SMK you're shooting now. That being said, I've also heard from some guys that they shoot great once you find the right formula. If you have time and patience enough, as well as resources (powder, primers, brass etc) it might be something to give a try. The guys I talked to said they preferred the hybrid bullets which per their description were somewhere between their hunting bullet and their VLD target bullet.
It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Dutch, I'm not that patient. I was gonna try some of the hunting shack ammo that uses Berger bullets. I think a 210 grain bullet out of my 30-06 or .308 would be nasty out to 200 yards.

I shot them in my 308, 30-06 & 300wsm, have been shooting Hill Shack Ammo Bullets, but will start reloading this yr. I plan to use them with reloading too.

All I shoot. Reloads.

Twice this year I've killed two pigs with one shot. Once at 330 and once at 125. That should answer any question about penetration. Last week I shot 8 pigs from 100-150 yards all in about 20-30seconds and not one moved. Granted three weighed less than 29 lbs.

I don't know that a 308 will have a fast enough barrel to stabilize a 210. I'd try the 155-168 range bullets.

Two with one shot makes me wonder if they penetrate too well for deer -- not expanding and xferring energy optimally. You're the expert, so what do you think?
