help on christmas list

Postby duckkiller » Thu Dec 05, 2013 3:43 pm

So I love nothing more than hunting with my dad, I spent my entire 30 years on this earth hunting the same 7K acres with him my granddad and numerous members that I still enjoy the weekends with today. I've given my dad dang near everything under the sun for Christmas over the years and for some reason this year I cant come up with anything that just stands out. I've thought about a Yeti cooler but for some reason a safety harness just keeps coming to mind. My dad is 62-63 I'm 30 and I want my kids to enjoy hunting with us just like I have enjoyed hunting with him and my granddad. He very seldom climbs anymore but he is getting older and ladder stands can be just as deadly it seems. What are yall's thoughts on safety harness (which ones pros cons etc.)?

There are several good ones on the market now. HSS, Muddy etc. I like my HSS reversible vest. For me it is just so dang quick and easy.

I currently use a HSS but it's several years old so I have a Muddy on order because of the great reviews they have received.

HSS. Get him a lifeline as well. I got the ultralite but would opt for the vest now. It has several pockets on the front.

Another idea...my wife bought me a Zippo hand warmer and had it engraved years ago...I love that thing

Everyone is raving about the Thermacell heated insoles. There's a handheld remote the sized of a keychain.

I'm getting my dad a squeegee and a sawzall - for his skinning shed.

The old fart already has two of everything.

Safety harness is great idea.........

but............

As a dad who's youngest is 17.......I feel we are running out of time together..........his job, my job, his school, my work...........
Kid's want dad's time.............then dad's want thier kids time..........

Make sure every moment you have, you spend time with him..............
