Crap a compound bow today is state of the art, its no different than a crossbow. you can take a guy than has never shot a bow and in 10 min be driving tack out to thirty yards with a compound.

if you want primitive bring back the old Hawkins with iron sights, and recurves and longbows.

the archery equipment today is only one notch less than a crossbow.
