Deer movin errywhere

Postby mfalkner » Wed Jul 10, 2013 1:50 pm

Went through Tupelo right at high noon, seeing deer in every little green patch. Saw at least seven in just a couple of miles, high noon, 95 degrees. Go figure.

They are moving all over my place at odd hours. Had two good looking rack bucks and a doe just hanging out in a wide open bean field the yesterday around 11am. My guy running the layby rig said he had to hold up while two does eased in front of him around noon today.

Truck came whopp'en down New Zion road in front my camp two sundays ago at around 11:45 a.m. and crushed a spike right in front of us and kept on rolling. We helped keep the buzzards away ;) Saw more during the middle of the day that weekend also.

Ive seen the same thing. Last week felt a little like bow season. I say it has to do with this mild and wet summer we have been having.

May be, plus all these were standing in new soybeans about ankle high so they were getting their grub on.

They have been out everywhere during the middle of the day. Big ol bean field around the corner from work has them in it dang near every day. That farmer is getting eaten out of beans quick!

Oddly enough, it doesn't seem that odd compared to last summer. On a daily bases I've seen more deer between 10-3 eating soybeans than any other time of the day. This has been last years experience also. I always just thought the deer felt less pressure from mosquitos at that time? Who knows, seen a lot of potential this year though.
