We for years have used Morton Pool Salt. We get it from walmart at $5 per 40lb sack. I started a new one earlier this year with about 20 lbs of pure salt, pictures galore. They'll wallow those places out like you've never seen. We've got established salt licks that they've been coming to for years, two of em are about 15 feet across and more than a foot deep. It's the cheapest and easiest way and all we use is Morton Salt.
PM me if you need a bloodtrailing hound.

I put my first out recently. I bought the trace mineral blocks at TSC. They were cheap at $5.99 each for a 50 lb block.

How much luck do yall have on mineral sites this time of year till mid Jan. Reason I ask is the deer seem to only hit my sites good before season then after december.

Deer Cane is the ticket. Walmart has it for about $6. The powder works great, but it takes a decent rain to really get it in the soil. Just dig up a 2 foot circle about 6" down and break it up. Mix the powder with the loose soil and shazaam. Same deal with the liquid, but you really don't need to break the soil up as much.

Here's a decent buck digging at my 2 week old salt lick area where I used deer cane:
