Who is seeing any horns yet?

Postby teul2 » Mon Aug 21, 2017 1:36 pm

Just put out my cameras last weekend. Dying to go check them.

Had a couple of little guys sporting velvet spikes a couple of weeks ago. Checked yesterday and had a 16" 8 point, in velvet. He was not impressed with my camera.

Pulled my first cards about 2 weeks ago. Had 3 bucks in a bachelor group of 6 that were in the 16-18" range (6pt and two 8pts). Still early but I hope they stay in the area. Have gotten pics of a few good ones in that spot in August the past few years but they seem to just be passing through. Seems like most bigger deer I get there in July and August leave and I get a few new ones come September. Summer/Winter patterns I'm guessing. Always fun to keep up with them though. Unfortunately seems to make the summer slow down...

Finally got out to check cameras. One doe with twins has hit every camera I have twice a day. I am tired of deleting video of her. Then there are 2 mediocre bucks.
Need some horns to get excited about!

Nice bucks in here.

Anybody gotten any hard horned pics yet? Surprisingly got my first on Sept 7th. Small 4pt but still about 2 or 3 weeks before when they usually start in my hunting spot in SW MS. haven't checked my cams in that spot in about 2 weeks since that card pull.

Just kidding. Those are from a year or two ago on someone else's place near Satartia.
