It will be 50 years this December since Hut's Dad dropped us off to hunt a flooded swag in a field on Gumbo Acres. The teal were thick and I got very wet and cold! I had on Levis with knee boots and a fatigue jacket. Hut was all dressed up with hip boots over his Levis. He had on a fatigue jacket, too...pretty standard attire back then. I'm pretty sure we killed at least a limit! A few ducks have fallen since then and I have gotten wet and cold several times since then, as well. Many things have changed over this half century, but I still get that same old feeling about this time every year! I hope all of you enjoy your hunts for as long as I have. And, I hope I have a few more memories to make! Good hunting and respect each other as well as the resource.

Man that really gave me flashbacks!
Those were the good days where you could knock on a door and ask for permission to hunt. We always offered them some of our rewards, but in most cases they would decline and smile.
Everybody wasn't out for something. Good times.
