JJ Lares calls

Postby tica-tica » Thu Jul 03, 2014 9:32 pm

Does anybody here use one of Joes calls? I have heard good things about his calls. Which one of his calls are most popular?

Great calls and the most popular calls are the hybrid and T1. I hunted with the hybrid for one season before swapping to a zink NBG.

I have 2 calls on my lanyard - JJ Lares Hybrid and an old DR-85 held together by electrical tape. That Lares Hybrid will do anything you ask it to.

Just got a new hybrid in the mail. Seems like a good call. I was surprised that is the same size as a RNT microhen. I mean this is a very small call.

The T1 is tiny, but it will crank out some volume for a timber call. IIRC, the hybrid and the T1 have the same insert, but different barrel and reed sizes. Be sure to keep the retainer "poked in." That retainer plug will fall out and you can be fooked on a hunt, go to blow and the reed and retainer will be gone. Lares will mail you a new one, but it takes a while.

I've hunted and guided with Cory. He's the best I've heard on a Lares.

^^^

No doubt about that, I spent a few days chasing them around NE Arkansas with Cory last year and he made that Lares call sound phenomenal
