Avery Power Hunter
Avery Power Hunter
Has anyone ever tried these in a cut bean field? They've got such a low profile, it seems to me they might work. Currently, we're using cabelas ultimate layout blinds and we are digging them in. It works great, but it's a lot of work and it gets messy. Plus, you have to be on completely dry ground. I was hoping the power hunter would have a low enough profile to lay on top. Thoughts?
Re: Avery Power Hunter
Powerhunter pros - low profile.
cons - awkward to get into / out of, looking though the mesh takes some getting use to, the back support SUCKS BALLS.

Looking for 2 duck calls from Dominic Serio of Greenwood (ones for Novacaine)

^^^ this. But for us skinny folks especially, you can hide in some pretty sparse places. Mudded and stubbled, of course.
Never assume.

Not very comfortable but be about level with the top of the rows if you lay it in between rows. Take the metal pole out of the middle of the flip cover and it will lay even flatter. If you stay laying down it's hard to see behind you. Basically it conceals well but not real comfortable.

Hunting in them all goose season. I'll probably never go back to a layout ever again.

You can use the camo material and brush it up, but we never did. They just got in the way and made us get more muddy. Pulled stubble over our legs just over the knee. No face masks were worn, no matter the weather conditions.

Okay thanks. That might be the ticket.

Re: Avery Power Hunter
Now you lose your "inside" room of a layout for bag storage, etc ....... but those chairs are just so much easier to hunt out of and more comfortable to me.

The Power Hunter did a number on my back. Just epic uncomfy.

Anybody ever tried a Hard Core run-n-gunner? Similar to the Mack's blind, but doubles as a decoy bag. Right now cabelas has it for $100.

Take a look at Rogers low profile goosebuster. Free shipping and on sale for 89 bucks. I really like mine.
